BehaviorMan has a new enemy:The Homunculi!Homunculi are what people ascribe to the causation of our behavior when we don't understand what is going on. BF Skinner (one of BehaviorMan's heroes) often discussed that the homunculi don't explain anything, they just add another layer of explanation needed.
Why are they so dangerous? Is it their gigantic hands, or their teeny heads? No!! It is the fact that they distract us from focusing on the true issues -- trying to figure out how our interactions with the world work! |
